The Amateur Boxing Association of England.
We are affiliated to the Amateur Boxing Association of England.
The Amateur Boxing Association of England Ltd (ABAE) is the sport's national governing body. It also represents England as a member of the Amateur International Boxing Association (AIBA) and the European Boxing Council (EUBC).
As a national governing body, the ABAE is responsible for all the administration, development and promotion of amateur boxing throughout England. ABAE is a non-profit organisation and is thus overseen by a board of directors and a boxing council, who are responsible for all Rules and Regulations for the sport in England.
The Amateur Boxing Association was formed in 1880 for the supervision, promotion and development of the sport of amateur boxing. In 1993 the ABA of England (ABAE) was formed as a Limited Company to help give greater focus on English boxing.
Today, the ABA of England has a solid base of boxers, coaches, officials and clubs. Each of the 646 clubs belong to a Division. These 30 Divisions each belong to one of the 9 Counties (or associations). These are joined by the Combined Services Boxing Association (army, navy, airforce), British Universities Sports Association (B.U.S.A), National Association of Clubs for Young People (N.A.C.Y.P), and the Police and Community Clubs of Great Britain.
